Cheese and carrot pastry swirls 🧀🥕 in less than 10 minutes 🕐
Perfect for picnics, parties, or just because it's Monday and you're craving a buttery crunchy treat…
Ingredients:
260g ready rolled puff pastry
1 medium carrot, washed
200g hard cheese (parmesan, cheddar, comté, mimolette...something with a punchy flavour)
Black pepper
Preheat the oven to 180c fan.
1. Grate your cheese and carrot finely.
🥕 Squeeze out the carrot juice, and knock back the shot (chef's bonus!) 🥕
2. Sprinkle the grated carrot and cheese over the pastry and spread evenly. Press the filling in with a rolling pin and grind some black pepper on top.
3. Roll up the pastry tightly. Cut into 2cm slices, and flatten each slice into a round.
4. Place on baking paper onto a tray, and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
