Do you ever have one of those moments where you wish you could sink into the ground? 😱⁠


This one happened quite a few years ago, but after The Little Paris Kitchen TV show had aired, I felt I needed to do something a bit different. I’d never worked in a Michelin starred restaurant, so I got in touch with Magnus Nilsson, who was the head chef at Fäviken at the time, and I flew to Sweden from London and rolled up my sleeves to get stuck in.⁠

I’ve never in my life felt so nervous.⁠

I’d done The One Show live to millions of viewers – not a problem – but this was so scary.⁠

One night I absolutely ruined one of the appetisers, just completely faffed it up. Magnus looked at me in silence. Then he said: “OK, next course, let’s move on.” And we did.⁠
