Mit lille køkken i Paris - Launch of Danish LPK book
Last week I headed to Copenhagen to promote the Danish version of LPK (out on 26.09.12). It was a quick visit but I did manage to fit a "Smushi" (Sushi sized Smørrebrød = buttered bread) at the Royal Café with the lovely Brittany from the House that Lars built.
Not your typical Scandanavian minimalist interiors here (giant paper flower made by Brittany).
I got treated to a lovely dinner at Radio (owned by Claus Meyer who is also co-owner of Noma).
Scallops with apple jelly, kohlrabi and beetroot spaghetti
Fish with pumpkin carpaccio and a "very-hard-to-find-Danish-berry".
Smoked and candied celeriac.
Lamb with black garlic and root vegetables.
Many dishes and wines but my favourite was the dessert.
Dessert: Camomile ice cream, sweet barley and white chocolate crispies.
The following day it was a morning packed with interviews followed by "a very French lunch" interview and an afternoon tea interview (Note to publicists: interviews + delicious food = happy journalists and interviewee).
Soft sponge with chocolate mousse topped with berries and a marzipan wrap.
View from rooftop staff cantine at the publishers.
A journalist was so kind and gave me two delicious Danish apples. Now that's my kind of souvenir!
Crunchy, crisp and not too sweet - exactly how I like my apples.
